Balenciaga Town bag in 2010 black

Soooooooo what did I buy in the Balenciaga boutique, whilst in Hong Kong? :P

Well, I originally wasn't even intending to get a Balenciaga bag, since I already have a few. I actually was after a Chanel bag - specifically a slouchy soft lambskin one. However, the current season stock in all the Chanel boutiques had structured, rigid bags. Urgh. So I figured I'd save my money...

Then, when we walked into the Balenciaga boutique.. I SAW IT. I've been gagging to get the Town size bag ever since it was newly released this year. Slightly bigger than the First, it's still smaller than the City. It's the perfect size for me I reckon. The boutique had 2 different ones that I liked - in "sorbet" (barbie pink) and in "black". I was initially attracted to the sorbet, since I looooove hot pink, but Chris pointed out that the black was a lot more grungy-cool looking and it IS the original classic Balenciaga colour. Plus, I have pink-everything.

I love the basic black of it, and how it'll match everything in my wardrobe. The size is fantastic. The benefit of this Town size over the First is that it slouches better, because there's more leather to go around. And oooooooh boy it slouches fantastically! The lambskin is buttery soft and super smooshy... so luscious. It's going to age beautifully because wear shows up a lot less on the black than on the coloured ones. And it smells AMAZING!!! Friends that know me online know I have a strange antic for sniffing my Balenciaga bags, it's cos they just smell so freakin' good. Now, I'm even resorting to surreptitiously sniffing my hands just to huff that yummy leather smell. So if you see me sniffing my hands, I swear it's not cos I'm going crazy, I'm just sniffing the bag smell that's rubbed off on my hands :P

Anyways. Enough passionate rambling about my materialistic tendencies. PICS!!

Louis Vuittion 'neverfull' bag in Damier print

Whilst shopping in the new Ion Orchard in Singapore, I made a beeline for the Louis Vuitton boutique, which is huge. Absurdly, we had to queue to get in. It was jammed packed with people inside, like there was some sort of mega sale going on. Sadly, there was not. Everything was full price (LV never goes on sale), we're in an economic recession, yet people are still merrilly buying their hearts out.

Well, if you can't beat 'em, JOIN 'EM! ;)

Spent over an hour with Mum trying on various bags, making the poor salesman drag down bag after bag for us to paw. He was absolutely lovely though, really attentive and patient, despite the store being so crowded and us taking up so much time. Poor Dad was left on the couch where he was so bored he eventually got up to look for us :P After much deliberation, Mum decided she wouldn't get a new one after all... but I DID!!

I actually walked into the store intending to get the Louis Vuitton 'neverfull' PM bag. But whilst I was there, I spent ages trying on different bags, wanting to make sure I got the "perfect" one. After all that, I still ended up reverting back to the Neverfull.

I just love how it's incredibly light but sturdy, can expand out if I need to stuff it, and has thin handles (the thick ones slide off my shoulders). I also like how it's waterproof and won't get dirty easily, and how there's no huge LV logo(s) all over it. The downside is that it's the most popular bag, so every bum on the street has it too. D'oh! It was the reason why I was looking to get another style, but in the end I decided I love the Neverfull too much :)

Mine's the Damier print and whilst Mum has the identical bag, hers is the Monogram print. It's the small PM size, because the larger ones dwarf me. It fits beautifully on my shoulder and makes the perfect, casual, everyday bag. I'M LOVING IT :)

PROENZA SCHOULER PS1 MEDIUM BAG

I've been lusting over the Proenza Schouler PS1 since January this year, when I first laid my eyes on this beauty. I saw it whilst surfing the net, in passing, and was quite taken by it... then shortly afterwards I started seeing it appear on the arms of young celebrities - namely Leighton Meester (whom I love on Gossip Girl), the Olsen Twins, and Kristen Dunst (really like her as an actress). That fuelled my lust even further, except I had one tiny problem.......

The bag is always sold out worldwide, and comes in very limited numbers, and even more limited colours. I called all around the USA, and even to the UK, to no avail. Everyone was "sold out" of the specific blue leather Medium size that I wanted.

Then, I found this online boutique that had it!!!!!!! It took me about 7 months to finally find it and get my hot lil hands on the bag, but it was well worth the wait. I'm just blown away with the smell of the leather! It has this incredible rich, strong leather scent.. so much so I keep sniffing at the bag like a crazy person.

The leather is really soft, and I adore how the bag is quite structured, yet the leather is really soft and slouchy. It makes the PERFECT work bag because it's plain and professional looking enough, yet it has "me" written all over it (mainly due to the soft leather, which basically all my bags have).

There are lots of compartments and zipper pockets, great because I love to have everything in its own place (very obsessive compulsive about that). And I can carry it as a briefcase, sling it on my shoulder, or wear it across my body - love bags that are multipurpose.

Best of all is the leather scent though... man it's intoxicating.... *goes off to have another whiff*

Bought some divine 100% leather Japanese-imported Le Pommier leather shoes whilst in Singapore! I like really random, loud stuff.. and these shoes are just hilarious - they're mismatched and totally cute :P Made totally of leather, they're also super soft with a padded sole, and the small chunky heel means they're really comfortable. The cute leather appliques are totally adorable, and make a cat and birds-in-a-tree design - soooo cute! Plus the strap is removable so I can wear them as pumps instead (but I have to put in a heel-grip to make the shoe smaller since I'm about a size smaller but they'd sold out). Really love 'em, now I want them in more designs :P

After a particular difficult/tiring/stressful day at wrork, it all came to head and just got too much for me. So you know how people turn to alcohol to reduce stress? Well, I guess I found out that day that I turn to shopping instead :P So I walked down the road to The Corner Store @ The Strand Arcade, and saw this GORGEOUS GORGEOUS GORGEOUS Miu Miu "Vitello Lux" handbag!! I've actually been eyeing it for quite a few months - I'm keen on a big bag to chuck all my things into, and I specifically want it really slouchy and soft, and leather of course. This fit the bill perfectly but I haven't bought a handbag in AGES (*proud*) and so was a bit reluctant to fork out the $$$$$$ for it.

But then when I'm stressed, things happen, so I got it :P At first, I put it back and walked out the store.. but 10mins later I decided I had to have it and walked back in and bought it! Bwahahahhahahhaa!!

I'm LOVING it. It smells unbelievably good, and is so soft and roomy inside. I like the neutral colour so it can just be my casual daytime bag to chuck all my junk into. And to help alleviate the guilty pleasure, I'll sell my Balenciaga rouge vif City bag to justify the purchase, heh!

So I got the HTC touch dual :D

The phone is brilliant! It's smooth, thin and sexy. I originally wanted to get the iPhone but then heard a lot of comparisons ranking this HTC touch dual as superior in terms of functionality, so I went for that instead. The iPhone still looks sexier IMHO though :P I adore my new HTC - it's simple to use yet has SO many functions, and I'm just excited at finally being super organised 24/7 now!

In other non-related yet related news, Alannah Hill had a private VIP sale (sounds really exclusive but I think most people that spend a lot at the store get invited anyway!) so I ended up caving in and buying 2 things I've been eyeing for yonks.. this super duper squishy Alannah Hill black wallet, with cute cats/stars embroidered on it! It's so incredibly soft and buttery, very very similar in texture to a Balenciaga bag. Also got a Alannah Hill cashmere cardi which is incredibly soft and thin, so comfy!! It has large/batwing arms so I can just slip into it easily, and it keeps me really warm. Also love the jewelled detailing all down the trim :)

Cutest thing was that we were given Alannah Hill's favourite chocolates shipped from Melbourne. They were almost too pretty to eat! The lovely SA gave me two since she saw me salivating when she gave me the 1st one ;)

What's in the bag?

I've been eyeing the Louis Vuitton 'Tikal' ever since it came out.. just that turn-lock clasp alone made me weak at the knees :P It gives this really soft 'chink' with you turn the clasp, and because I have an obsessive-compulsive personality, I repeatedly go 'chink' whenever I carry it.. thus looking like a crazy person. Oh well!

It makes a really nice evening bag. Not too dressy but still nice enough to carry for a dinner. It fits in all my stuff too, and looks really chic on the shoulder IMHO :) The gold hardware makes it luxe and the monogram "LV" print isn't too big (since the bag itself isn't too big) so it isn't too in-your-face.

Now I just need more dinner functions to carry it to :P

Completely caved and bought the Tiffany & Co "Diamonds By The Yard" necklace, to match my ring!! 16" long and has three bezel set diamonds (.59 carats, G colour, VS clarity). It's delicate, simple and unobtrusive.. which is why I love it. Not very bling, just sweet and simple. Now I am absolutely gagging for the matching bracelet! ;)

Gucci limited edition beaded heels

Very very pleased with these gorgeous Gucci limited edition beaded heels!! :D

The size 5 fit me like a total charm, it was like a sign ;) I love the intricacy of the beadwork and it's so cheery and sparkly. Plus I love how they're limited edition so the whole world won't be wearing them (ummm.. unless they start making the fake version, ack). They're so pretty I keep staring at them in awe, haha! I'm too lazy to take photos so here are the stock photos - not as pretty as what they look in real life, but oh well!

Got this super cute Luisa Clare owl leather bag. I'm a fan of her handbags - they're all hand-made by her and she and her family are very very sweet. Not to mention the designs are all really unique and are awesome quality. This one caught my eye because it was just so darn cute - have not seen any bag like this ever! Various bits of leather was stitched to the front of the bag to create an owl and tree/leaves. It actually came with a brown strap but I'm a bright-colour girl, so her sister changed it to a red strap for me. Yay! It's super soft and holds about the same amount of stuff as the Balenciaga first, so I'm happy. Only request would be to add one or two inner pockets, as it's annoying having to fish around for my phone, hairbrush, etc, amongst all my other stuff. Love it though, and she gave me 10% off on top! :D

Also bought a cute Pink Zebra umbrella. They're actually a clothing store, boasting the most divine and softest cashmere clothing EVER. However they're all $300 and above so I haven't had the guts to buy anything there :X So I settled for an umbrella, heh! It has this lovely swish sound when opened and the quality is astounding. Plus I love the neat 'lil details like a little tassel, the detailed leather handle and the pretty scalloped edge.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX?????????!!

Been eyeing the Louis Vuitton tambour watch for almost 2 years now, and finally decided to get it. I decided to swap the pink leather band for the steel one though. It looks so much better IMHO! And best yet, it's custom-fit to my wrist.. and I can take it back to the boutique to make it bigger in summer if I choose. I really really love it and it's a great *ahem* investment piece since it will last forever. I know people treat Rolex and Omega as investment pieces, but for the price, I'd much rather my Louis Vuitton - a brand that I actually love, instead of spending $$ on some random brand just because it's expensive. I can't stop staring at the watch on my wrist now... I LOVE IT! *happy dance*

My super-talented friend made me a wonderful gift(s) - Balenciaga braids!!! They're made using an assortment of Balenciaga bags' leather tassels, braided together and decorated with a sprinkle of sparkly charms. Sooooo gorgeous. It's hard to capture it in photos, but in real life they're really delicate, pretty and sparkle in the light. And the braids are really soft since that's what Balenciaga's famous for. Best part is that I can hang them on not only my Balenciaga bags but also my other ones. The blue/green braid looks awesome on my Rusty turquoise bag, for starters :D

Picked up a gorgeous, gorgeous Rusty bag. It was only $40!! Super duper ultra soft and slouchy, as soft as my Balenciaga bags. And the colour is divine, a mix between Balenciaga's Seafoam colour and the Turquoise '04 colour. Looooove it. It's so incredibly smooshy and is big so it fits in all my junk. Hurray!!

Also finally located and bought some Joto flats. Been eyeing them for ages but couldn't bring myself to pay $70 for a pair of simple flats. Well, General Pants had them in Pewter (!!) and for $45!! Was very very pleased :)

Louis Vuitton black satin flats

So I bought a pair of Louis Vuitton black satin flats. I've been slowly converting my shoe stash to flats, because of my bad knee (I always feel like a doddery old lady when I say this!), and selling off my heels, only keeping a few pairs I truly love.

The flats fit like a charm and have the cutest pink interior and soft satin exterior. I like how the "LV" monogram is also black so it isn't loud - no one will know it's Louis Vuitton, which is a good thing. And the metal plate on the heels read "Louis Vuitton" embossed into the silver - too cute :P And to compensate for this little splurge, I'm selling 2 pairs of Coach shoes on eBay sometime this/next week. Also listed a bunch of Alannah Hill and whatnot on eBay yesterday so I hope it all sells well :)

Did some shopping this weekend, hadn't shopped in a while so I went a leeeetle mad (whoops).

$199 down from $289, which I thought was a deal, but now that I think about it,
it's still quite pricey! But it fits soooooo well and is really gorgeous on, though it
looks pretty plain and blah in the pic here. Got it from the Alannah Hill store.

but it's so lovely on and is really silky and comfortable.

in the store and loved them!

insanity and bought these for full-price, 'cos I loved 'em so much!

And I saved my favourite purchase for the last. It's a gold ring with a teeny ruby
and I really wanted to buy it, then realised that it was 50% off!! Took it as a sign ;)

Had to get the ring altered to fit me as my finger is a size US 2.5!! :-O
I think I've shrunk or something :( Even the jeweler thought I was weird..

I was at Neiman Marcus whilst in the USA and took pics of all their stock.. The green and blue are just divine in person! I'm coveting the new Hobo style, but the giant hardware just seems really tacky IMHO, I just can't grow to like it :( Fingers crossed they'll release the Hobo size with normal hardware.
